HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. The course applies to all persons who may be required to provide an advanced first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Important Information Prior to Enrolment

COURSE DELIVERY OPTIONS

  1. Face to face in the workplace (16 hours approx.)

  2. Online with a face to face workplace assessment (6 hours approx.)

COST

Course cost starting from $260.00 per person.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins.

Pre-course study: Students may be required to undertake online pre-course work prior to attending the face to face session depending on the course delivery mode.

Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

CERTIFICATE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

Certificates will require renewal after 3 years.
