HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. The course applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

 

This course is suitable for anyone wanting to gain essential skills to help deal with a first aid emergency, or for those who renew every 3 years and are confident in their skills. To view full unit details please visit www.training.gov.au.

 


Important Information Prior to Enrolment

​COURSE DELIVERY OPTIONS

  1. Face to face in the workplace (7.5 hours approx.)

  2. Both online and face to face in the workplace (6 hours approx.)

  3. Predominantly online with a face to face workplace assessment (1 hour approx.)

COST

Course cost starting from $150.00 per person.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins

Pre-course study: Students may be required to undertake online pre-course work prior to attending the face to face session depending on the course delivery mode.

Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

CERTIFICATE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 36 months. Recommended renewal dates for included competencies are listed separately on the certificate, for example, CPR is 12 months.
